#3: Height, Age and "Fast Training"!
Q: Hi Vince,
Great column! Youre a strong fella. Tell me, how
tall are you? And can you also let me know how old you were and what you weighed when you
first started training?
Thanks for everything.
...Ross Watson
A: Thanks Ross,
I am currently 5 5" tall, and have not been able
to change that since my middle teens. I will now just grow in circumference.
I have been playing with weights since I was around 12
years old. I lifted weights all through high school for football. I really did not get
serious with the weights until I graduated. I got my first membership at a club when I was
18 I weighed a mind-boggling 143lbs.
On the strength issue, set some goals and then
"push" and "pull" past barriers. Make sure you train injury free,
though.
Until next time
train hard, train fast, GET BIG!

Q: Hi Vince,
In your column you always say to "Train
Fast." What does that mean? Do you mean I should do my reps fast, or should I take no
rest between sets? I thought I was supposed to train slowly to build muscle.
Thank you for your help.
...B. Carlton
A: Thanks for the question Mr.Carlton,
I use the phrase "Train Hard, Train Fast, Get
Big" as my definition for intensity.
- Train hard: Push yourself to the limit, but without injuring
yourself, of course.
- Train fast: Do your sets and reps in a timely matter. You
are in the gym, so train. Leave the gossip for later.
- Get big: This is the result of doing the first two
applications right.
Until next time
train hard, train fast, GET BIG.
